Favorite Series – Surviving Raine Series by Shay Savage

If one day I were lost at sea and stranded on a foreign, dangerous island, I would only want one thing. The one and only Sebastian Stark. If I had him, I’d have everything and I’m a hundred percent sure I will be okay. 😉 Shay Savage succeeded to create a great, original story with intense, deep characters. I loved the characters, the idea, and the writing. I loved the unforgettable, hilarious moments that Miss Savage brilliantly portrayed throughout the story because of their differences. They were memorable. What was missing? It was their story after the rescue. I wanted to know more about how their relationship was built under normal circumstances when they had to deal with the normality of everyday’s life. The end of the story made me wonder: “Would their relationship survive?” I really hope there would be a sequel for this story someday. But overall, what a wonderful story! About Book 1: As the captain of a schooner catering to the elite on the Caribbean Seas, Sebastian Stark does his best to avoid any human encounters. […]

Book Review – Breathe (Colorado Mountain #4) by Kristen Ashley

Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance Standalone/Series: Standalone Published on: December 11, 2012 Pages: 649 Source: Purchased Rating: 3.5 STARS Buy on Amazon Kristen Ashley did it again. This author can do no wrong in my eyes. When she creates something, it will always be amazing. I love this author. Her writing has magic that once you are in, there won’t be any way out, you will be captured by the story and the world she has created. “It was wild. Abandoned. Rough. Wet. Intense. Fiery. Thorough. Exquisite. Heart-pounding. Blood-singing. Soul-rocking. Life-altering. Luscious.” Chace Keaton is a broken, hot, badass, thirty-five-year-old detective in Carnal. He had been through bad things in the past six years that ended with her wife being murdered and him feeling guilty. And there was a shy girl, Faye Goodknight, a twenty-nine librarian who had never been in a relationship. She was waiting for the right man. She had been falling in love with Chace Keaton but had kept it for years because she knew there wouldn’t be a way Chace would notice her. She had no clue that Chace had always had […]

Book Review – Kaleidoscope (Colorado Mountain #6) by Kristen Ashley

Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance Standalone/Series: Standalone Published on: February 4, 2014 Pages: 406 Source: Purchased Rating: 3.5 STARS Buy on Amazon I love all Kristen Ashley’s books. Been a huge fan of her works for two years and read lots of her books. I couldn’t help but compare this one with the previous ones while reading. All of Kristen Ashley’s books are full of action, alpha-males and sweet, engaging, romantic moments that I LOVE. I was searching that special moment that would excite me and fly me to the moon. You know those special moments that keep you turning the pages. The excitement! Those special moments that make me addicted and keep reading without skipping. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that. Something was missing. I found myself struggling to finish this book. Don’t get me wrong. This is still a good book. There are some parts that I loved. I loved Deck. He’s an alpha man. I loved his patient. He was perfect. But I found Emme a bit boring. Let me explain what was missing for me: – I have an issue with “we’ve known […]

Favorite Series – The Dark Trilogy by C.J. Roberts

Women trafficking! Yep, you got it. That’s the main topic of this story. I have read movies about that topic but they have never affected me this much as I read it. I think every sane human being is going to think the same. It is brutal and unacceptable, and to be honest, quite unforgivable. OMG, about ninety percent of this book is a torture. Completely torture. There were times that I hoped I hadn’t read the first book so I wouldn’t have read the second and third ones, but I couldn’t take my eyes off my iPad. I tortured myself. Whenever I read these kinds of books I always swear I will never read them again. But I can’t help myself. I know, for my own sanity, it’s best for me to stop reading these kinds of reads. But you know, you don’t say the words “guilty pleasure” with no reasons, huh. 😉 Can a monster change? I can hardly say the word “monster”. I don’t see Caleb as a monster even though he kind of was. He has […]

Favorite Series – Beautiful Disaster Series by Jamie McGuire

I first read this book three years ago, way before this blog. I fell over heels in love with Travis Maddox. Now, three years and countless of book boyfriends later, Travis still one of my greatest book lovers. In fact, imagining the story now again, thinking about him, I realize love him more. I’ve never thought it was possible to love a book character so much. By ‘so much’, I meant he has been one of my all time favorite characters. After reading Walking Disaster and A Beautiful Wedding, I love him even more. About Book 1: “And when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever.” The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand. Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby […]

Book Review – The Bronze Horseman Series by Paullina Simons

Genres: Adult, Historical Romance Standalone/Series: Series Published on: March 2009 (Book 1) Pages: 811 (book 1), 578 (Book 2), 755 (Book 3) POV: Third person POV Source: Purchased Rating: 5 STARS (All Time Favorite) Buy on Amazon:  The Bronze Horseman (Book 1) Tatiana and Alexander (Book 2) The Summer Garden (Book 3) I don’t remember when I first heard of this series. The background is The Soviet-German war in 1941 until 1999 where they have had to face another kind of war throughout the years. The story took me to the era that I’m not familiar, so after reading 2 pages I wasn’t sure I would finish the first book, let alone the whole series. The series has three books with more than 2000 pages a book. I usually read 1000 pages or less a book, so 2000 pages are a lot. It took me a while to finish it. “Alexander, were you looking for me?” “All my life.” Holly cow, after 5 pages I became more and more addicted. I didn’t realize I had reached the last page of the first book. […]
