Weekly Recap โ€“ Back from Vacation and Tarryn Fisher’s New Release (July 15, 2017)

Posted July 15, 2017 by Geybie's Book Blog in Weekly Recaps / 101 Comments

Hi guys, how are you? I hope you are enjoying your summer break as I am. I’ve just got back home from a mini trip and my body is still adjusting. Iย wish the vacation would be forever. ย I enjoyed it so much and can’t wait to share it with you in the next post. During my one week trip, I managed to read two books, both of which I enjoyed. It was my second trip since I started blogging and I’m glad that I’ve finally found a way to enjoy the trip while keeping up with the blogging stuff.

I apologize since I hadn’t been online much during that trip and was a little behind in replying comments and visiting blogs. I missed talking to you all! Can’t wait to read your experiences this past week. I hope you had a wonderful week as I did.

Last week on the blog:

I didn’t enjoy Jilted as much as I hoped but The Knocked Up Plan did blow my mind. If you haven’t read it yet, start it as soon as possible. It is amazing! ๐Ÿ˜€

Books I’ve just got or purchased and am currently reading:

OMG, I’ve just bought and am currently reading an awesome book, Atheists Who Kneel and Pray, by one of my TOP favorite authors, Tarryn Fisher. She is really full of surprises. I haven’tย heard of this book before the release date or Iย might not have paid enough attention to bookย news because of the vacation. So excited for this surprise release!

I got an audiobook, Once Perfect by Cecy Robson, for review last week from Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and cannot wait to start it. This is my first audiobook and I’m so excited! Thank you so much, Kimberly. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • She’s awesome. Trust me. Her writing style is beyond amazing. You’re gonna love her books. I recommend her Love Me With Lies series. It’s one of my top favorite series. This new release is awesome as well. I’m loving it so far. ๐Ÿ˜

I’ve never come across Atheists Who Kneel and Pray before – what a great title! Enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad you had a great vacation! It’s always nice when you have such a good time you don’t want to come home.

Hope this week is all good things!

  3. Vacations are officially the best thing ever…though I never get as much reading done as I plan to (saying that I have an 11 hour plane flight for my next one so I should in theory get at least one book read!)

    • I hope you’ll get to read a book, Emma. Yay, vacation! So happy for you. I’ve just got back from a mini trip but I wish it could’ve been longer! Have a wonderful week and happy reading. ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. I disliked Jilted too! I couldn’t stand the characters, and there was so little emotional connection. I’m glad your vacation was enjoyable. I know what you mean about adjusting! It takes a while too. Plus, there’s no place like home! ๐Ÿ™‚
    Take care!

  5. So sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy Jilted. You aren’t the first person I’ve seen that didn’t enjoy it tho. That’s a bummer. I usually really love Sawyer Bennett’s books. I own that Lauren Blakely book but haven’t pick it up yet. I’m glad you did enjoy that one. Hope you have a great week, and welcome back from vacation!

  6. Oh I really enjoyed Once Perfect when I read it years ago! I hope the audio is great! I didn’t care for book 1 in the Love Hurts series so I didn’t even grab Jilted. I love her Cold Fury series, but that seems to be the only books of hers I really like. Have a great week!

  7. That’s awesome that you had a great vacation! I’m in desperate need of a good vacation so I’m a little jealous lol Atheists Who Kneel and Pray looks interesting. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it! Have a great week! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I’m glad you had a good vacation, and still found time to read. I took a vacation last summer and read a couple of books, too, but didn’t take my laptop, so there was no blogging. E-mails on my phone, though.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  9. Happy to hear you enjoyed the week-long getaway! I had one in late April/early May and I’m already ready for another one. ๐Ÿ™‚ Too bad Jilted was something of a disappointment. I hate when that happens. ๐Ÿ™ I hope you’ll love the audio book! I used to be so anti-audio book. I was a total purist and to me that wasn’t reading. Boy, have I done a total turn-around! Now I love audio books!

    • Ahh glad to hear you’re now a fan of audiobooks too. I wasn’t really sure I was gonna enjoy it first. I did try one last year and didn’t like it but this one sounds awesome. I’ve just started reading the first chapter and I enjoyed it. The narrator is awesome. ๐Ÿ˜โค๏ธ

  10. Glad you had a nice vaction. It is so refreshing to get away and unplug! Your first audiobook. Awesome. You will be an addict before you know it. I have read that series and it’s really good.

  11. I’m glad you enjoyed your mini vacation. We just spent the weekend away relaxing. It is hard for me to step away from work and computer so its nice when I really take a little break. Your new books look interesting. Hope you really enjoy them. Happy Reading!

    • Glad to hear about your little break, Martha. One of the things I’ve learned since started blogging is that getting away from my laptop, iPad, kindle, etc are next to impossible. Hehe. Now, I try to go on a few hours a day without any of them. ๐Ÿ˜

  12. I didn’t pay much attention to Atheists Who Kneel and Pray either, mostly because the cover is so loud and busy. But your comment has peaked my interest. I’ll check it out. Happy reading.

  13. Glad you had a wonderful vacation ๐Ÿ™‚ And it’s great you’ve been reading mostly good books! 2017 has so far been a good book year for me too ๐Ÿ™‚

(P.S. Sorry about not visiting for so long! I’ve had exams and then was travelling and then was sick and then started my postgrad and have been soooo exhausted!)

  14. I hear you on the vacation front! If only the could last at least half the year. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m glad you had such a great time and you managed to get your reading in! I know I don’t expect someone on vacation to be visiting my blog so don’t be too hard on yourself!

That’s cool you’re trying your first audio! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!

Have a great weekend and can’t wait to hear all about your trip.
