Book Review – Sustained (The Legal Briefs #2) by Emma Chase

Genres: Adult, Contemporary Standalone or Series: Standalone (part of a series) Published on: August 25, 2015 Pages: 305 POV: First person POV from the hero Source: Purchased Rating: 4.5 STARS Buy on Amazon Wow, guys, I got a new favorite! I loved, loved, LOVED this book. Some of you might have read this book since it is an old release, but just in case you haven’t yet, please grab this book as soon as you can. Trust me; it is AWESOME! Sustained is told purely from the hero’s point of view, which is unique for me. I’ve rarely read books told from the hero’s POV and enjoyed them. It’s a part of the Legal Briefs series but can be read as a complete standalone. What is the story about? It follows a young, successful criminal defense lawyer who is on the top of his game and plays by his own rules. He believes that marriage and relationships are the pieces of baggage which slow everything down. He is very driven and has a clear goal on how his future will be. Aside from his career, he has […]

Reading wise, I did read amazing books and just had new great recommendations from fellow book bloggers. You guys are fantastic. Thank you! In addition, My sister in law and I are planning to be having another mini trip in the beginning of July in her hometown. Yay, SO excited. I miss going to beaches. Last time I went there was two years ago and I enjoyed it. Can’t wait to be back again. I’m also joining blogging ahead challenge hosted by Anna @ Herding Cats Burning Soup Blog. Two weeks ago I had a trip to my hometown and just realized how much I needed to blog ahead. I was overwhelmed by keeping up with the blogging while on the road. Thank you so much, Anna, for this challenge. 😀 Last week on the blog: I read the Buttons series by Penelope Sky (a trilogy) and Deklan by Shay Savage (a standalone) last week. I read four books in […]

Book Review – Deklan by Shay Savage

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romantic Suspense Standalone/Series: Standalone Published on: June 20, 2017 Pages: 419 POV: First person POV Source: Purchased Rating: 4.5 STARS Buy on Amazon As some of you know, mafia stories are my favorite. I love unconventional love stories that push all my boundaries and make me think. While it contains violence and murders, they are not heavy and all fans of suspense, including the ones who do not enjoy taboo, sensitive subjects, will enjoy this story. It is a standalone story.   What is the story about? Kera O’Conner is a daughter of a low-level gambler who owns small businesses. When she was fifteen, she was abducted and her father had to ask a mafia family for help but she had to marry the son of the mafia leader as a payment of her father’s debt. Realizing that it was the only thing to save her family, she agreed. After meeting her future fiance several times over the year she finally accepted it and even looked forward to the day. Everything changes when she and her family are asked to come to meet […]

Book Review – Buttons Series by Penelope Sky

Genres: Adult, Dark Contemporary Romance Standalone/Series: Series (trilogy) Published on: Book 1 (November 15, 2016), Book 2 (February 7, 2017), Book 3 (May 16, 2017) Pages: Book 1 (367 pages), Book 2 (342 pages), Book 3 (397 pages) POV: Dual first POV Source: Publisher Rating: 4.5 STARS Buy on Amazon:  Buttons & Lace (Book 1) Buttons & Hate (Book 2) Buttons & Pain (Book 3) This series is hands down one of my favorite dark, contemporary romances ever. It was unputdownable, addicting, unconventional romance you are going to enjoy if you are a fan of dark romances. Before I elaborate further what this story about ad what I thought about it, I want to give you a heads up—this story contains taboo, offensive such as rapes, abuses, murders, violence, punishments, and the things related to human traffickings. In other words, this is not for everyone. Let me tell you, Penelope Sky did not hold back when it comes to details—all the information—relating to those subjects, therefore, if you are not ready yet, don’t read the following. However, if you are familiar with the subjects, welcome to […]

Latest Book News – New Releases, Sales/Bargains, Pre-Orders (June 20, 2017)

New Releases: (Click the titles or the covers or titles to go to Amazon) Tycoon by Katy Evans – June 20 – This is my next read! He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult. Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me. That man is gone. In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city. He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman. The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin. It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help. I didn’t expect him to offer it easily. And he doesn’t. Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone. Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says. He’s assessing every piece of me, to the point I’ve never felt so bare. I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me. Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself. Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking. […]

Top Seven Series I’ve Been Meaning To Start But Haven’t Yet

The Marked Men series by Jay Crownover This book has been one of my TOP series I’ve been planning to read soon. I read the recently published book by this author, Riveted, and loved it. I love the author’s writing so I cannot wait to start this series as soon as possible. It has got lots of awesome reviews.       Elements of Chemistry series by Penny Reid This series is one of the old series that I’ve purchased right after the third book published but then somehow forgot about it. One of the bloggers recently reminded me of this book.    Never, Never series by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher These two authors are in the list of my one-click author but somehow I forgot to read this series. They’ve been sitting on my kindle for a while and every time I was about to read them I got distracted by another one. I need to as soon as possible though.    Mercy Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs This author is a totally new author to me but I am SO curious about […]
