Written In Red: A Novel of the Others by [Bishop, Anne]This series was the first paranormal romance I read in a long time and it is AWESOME. I needed some getting used to when I started but I enjoyed it. I’ve read the first two books and am planning on reading the rest as soon as possible. If you are a big fan of paranormal or urban fantasy romance, this series should be your next read if you haven’t read it yet.

About Book 1:

As a cassandra sangue, or blood prophet, Meg Corbyn can see the future when her skin is cut—a gift that feels more like a curse. Meg’s Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard—a business district operated by the Others.

Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job. First, he senses she’s keeping a secret, and second, she doesn’t smell like human prey. Yet a stronger instinct propels him to give Meg the job. And when he learns the truth about Meg and that she’s wanted by the government, he’ll have to decide if she’s worth the fight between humans and the Others that will surely follow.

  1. I used to be a Paranormal romance Junkie, but I have stop reading it so much in the last year or so. But I’m always looking for a good book or series in this genre (sentimental I guess) This one I’ve been meaning to pick up for a while but I don’t know why I haven’t yet, maybe I will finally, Thanks.

    • Same here, Chelle. I used to be a die hard fan of PR but since I got into contemporary romance world I haven’t read PR books as much as I used. This series has made me fall back in love with PR again. I hope you’ll give it a try. 😁👍🏻

  2. I am loving this series! I’ve read the first two books and am almost done with the third. I’ve listened to them on audio with my husband (we listen for a bit most evenings so it takes a while) and it’s so much fun to discuss them together. I love the big cast of characters, both human and Others, and narrator does such an excellent job with all the voices.

    • Wow, it must be so fun to be able to do something with our spouse, Tanya. I’m plan to catch up next week. Can’t wait! I’ve missed this series already. Hmm I’m curious about the audiobooks. Sounds so fun. I’ll look at them. Thanks for sharing, Tanya. 😁

  3. I’m so glad to hear your high opinion of this series! And so sooo glad that the hype isn’t misleading 🙂 I’ve been eyeing these books for long and now I know I HAVE to pick them up 🙂 Thanks Geybie! Kinda skimmed over your reviews from book 2 onwards as I’ve not read book 1 yet! Will come back to the reviews after reading the books 😀
