Hi, everyone. Happy Easter for those who are celebrating! I’ve had a fantastic week, mostly because Easter was coming. I love celebrating Easter. I hope you have a great week, too. Anyway, thank you for all of your well-wishes for me last week. I am feeling great now. I hope you all are too. 😀

Last week on the blog:

Not much happening last week. I didn’t post many but I did have a great reading time. I was spending time reading Sins Duet (Black Hearts & Dirty Souls) by Karina Halle. Although I didn’t love the series as much as I hoped, I did have a good time reading it. I’m planning to read more of romantic suspense books in the future. Do you have any recommendations? 😀

Just in case you haven’t read them yet, here are my recent book reviews:

I haven’t read this series or any books by this author yet. Have you?

Cinderella: a REAL life fairytale
If a dream is a wish your heart makes then Cindee Ellis is in major trouble. There’s no way Henry Christensen will ever notice her under all those oil stains and brake fluid splattered across her shirt. Unless—she’s dead wrong about him. Join her with this real life fairytale set in the small town of Silver Creek to find out how she’ll work her guts out to make her own happily ever after.

“Hey, Cindee, before I forget. You have a real nice day.”

I nod with about the blankest expression I’ve ever felt, and then he winks. HE LITERALLY WINKS!

My eyes are as big as I can stretch them.

Either Henry Christensen just did that on purpose, or he has something irritating his eye. I want to go with my first choice, but the second one seems more accurate. I’m the girl with no name, until just now, standing in a huge coat, so it’s gotta be the second choice, right?

“Henry? Is that you?” Priscilla’s sticky-sweet voice interrupts.

He doesn’t speak a word as he presses on the gas to slowly start backing up.

“I’ll stop by the station to pick up the trucks in a while. Make sure you’re there,” he says before quickly pulling onto Main Street where everything disappears, except for the faint glow of his brake lights that blink three times.

Is he saying goodbye? I know other girls back in high school had boys do this to them, but not me. NOT EVER. Not once did a boy tap his brake lights to me. I think I’ve died and gone to heaven.

Beauty and the Beast: a REAL life fairytale
There’s a tale as old as the time of two people falling in love, but what happens when Belle won’t have anything to do with it. Join her with this real life fairytale set in the small town of Silver Creek to find out how she’ll transform the town’s beast into a handsome prince with her heart, not her beautician skills.

“Thank you for this.” I whisper into Adam’s ear.

“For what?” He grins.

“For being the kind of man that makes a woman believe there’s a God in heaven.” I nuzzle into his shoulder and close my eyes as the preacher asks us to pray.

Once we finish, the rows of people begin to stand. I wipe under my eyes one more time just to make sure I don’t have mascara running down my face.

The Frogg Princess: a REAL life fairytale
Taya is almost there. Join her in this real-life fairytale, set in the small town of Silver Creek, as she plans to start a new life by opening a little restaurant. Only to find a few rude people that don’t seem to welcome her. But that doesn’t seem to bother Felix Frogg, a local police officer, and the love-at–first-sight reactions he keeps tossing her way. If Taya isn’t careful with the way her heart is softening towards Felix, she could be walking into a lifetime commitment of happily ever after that wasn’t in her plans.

“You probably shouldn’t be with a girl like me. I could corrupt a boy like yourself,” I tease, trying to ease the heat flooding my face. How could I push myself on him? I’m cringing inside at being so stupid.

“Nah, I’d happily go as far as you’d allow me,” he softly chuckles. “I just have a promise I made with my brother.”

“A promise?” I narrow my eyes.

“Yeah, we both agreed to wait for marriage.”

I stifle a gasp. Is he for real?

Praise for the Book

Five Stars: Couldn’t put this book down! This book has a way of not only making you feel what the characters are feeling, but it sucks you in where you don’t want to put it down, Not only have I read this book once, but I read it all over a second time. If you want to get lost for a few hours then I would highly recommend you read this book!!

Five Stars: Sooooo Good! I really enjoyed this novella. I was so happy with the ending. It was well written and kept my attention even when my Grandson interrupted for help on his homework. So happy he left the math worksheet at school. I will be looking for more of this author’s work. Hope you enjoy this novella.

Five Stars: A clean romance book! Jamie Brook Thompson has got some mad writing skills! She has talent that can take you to another world for a few hours! I recommend this book to anyone who needs a good chic book (like a chic flick but in book form 😉 ) to escape the real world for a bit! And who doesn’t love cowboys?!

Author Jamie Brook Thompson

Jamie Brook Thompson is a small town girl that loves to tell a good story. She grew up as the daughter of a redneck farmer and hippie mother. Her entire life has been filled with duct tape and peace and love. She currently has 6 children, two dogs, and a handsome Prince of her very own! When she isn’t writing, you can find her out at her father’s ranch changing tires on tractors, working on motors that need repair, or adjusting carburetors on the family four wheelers to ride the high Utah desert. She’s a woman of many talents and trades, but the one she enjoys the most is writing stories to take readers into a world of hope—a world of clean romance!

You may not know that I’m a huge fan of Dancing With The Stars and Derek Hough is my favorite on the show. He is not participating this season but I LOVE this dance below from last week. It is one of my favorite dances. I hope you enjoy it. 😀

Sorry you weren’t feeling well, but glad you are better. Lots of reading done for sure. The Anne Bishops are on my list for eventually.

Enjoy your Easter and the rest of the week!

  2. Glad you’re feeling better. Ohhh romantic suspense, huh? Well, definitely read Corrupt! Have you read He Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker? Really good! Ohhh and what a touching dance by Derek & his sister.

  3. Congrats on getting your second ARC, Geybie, it’s always exciting, isn’t it?
For romantic suspense, I agree with Christy, you should definitely read He Will Be My Ruin by KA Tucker, and you should check out Kristen Ashley, JA Huss, and Rebecca Zanetti for starters 😀 Then let me know, and I’ll make a more comprehensive list for you 😀
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • Oh I’ll check out He Will Be My Ruin. Sounds great. Thank you, Lexxie. What are your 5 starred romantic suspense books? I’ve read almost all KA’s books. Rebecca Zanetti and JA Huss are new to me authors. I’ll check out their books. Thank you! 😁

  4. Congrats on the ARC. I heard that was a VERY sought after one! I haven’t read any book in that series. I have only read 1 Tille Cole book! Apparently I need to get going with her books.
Some of my favorite romantic suspense (this is my FAVORITE subgenera)
The Devil’s Daughter by Katee Robert
The Red Stone security series by Katie Reus (I LOVE Katie Reus!)
    Retreat by Jay Crownover
Kill Without Mercy by Alexandra Ivy
    Taken by Cynthia Eden
Protecting Caroline by Susan Stoker (Free on Amazon right now!)
The Search and Rescue series by Katie Ruggle
Everything she wanted by Jennifer Ryan
I could probably keep going…. just let me know if you want more suggestions 🙂

    • Wow… Thank you so much, hun… I’m in the mood for romantic suspense. I’ll check them out!! 👍🏻😁
Anyway, I actually didn’t think I was going to get the ARC. I was surprised when they sent it on my kindle. I was like WHAT?! There were a lot of big blogs had requested it. I was just lucky. 😁

  5. Happy Happy Easter!! I hope you have a wonderful day. Its a special day for me too, just wish I could be with my family today. Some great books you have in the plans here. I am looking forward to reading Chosen even though I am not a fan of her multiple plot lines, I can never resist this series. I am excited to see what you think of Devil in Spring. And yes for Penelope Douglas, she is fantastic. I will say that I am not a huge fan of Karine Halle, I know many like her work, it just never works for me. I also adore Dancing With The Stars and that dance last week was amazing, I had forgotten how good he is and boy they dance so well together don’t they?? They are the most adorable couple. I have enjoyed seeing how this show is going this season. So many couple I really like.

    • Karina is a hit or miss author to me. The Sins Duet unfortunately is a miss. I loved her Experiment In Terror and some of her standalones. Oh yeah, I can’t wait to start Corrupt! I love dark romance. ;(
Ohh so happy to hear that you love DWTS too. Derek is my FAVE. It is him and his sister, Julianne. Yep, they dance wonderfully. 😁

  6. carolesrandomlife

Enjoy your new book! It looks like you have a lot of great books planned for the rest of the month. Have a great week!

  7. Some of my fav romantic suspense is J. D. Robb and just got to delve into Karen Rose too and she writes great suspense as well. I’ve enjoyed K. A. Tucker too. Good to see you still on track with the Bishop books!

  8. I haven’t had a chance to watch any DWTS, I need to catch up. Glad you are feeling better. you have some awesome books on your reading horizon. I LOVE the Others and the latest Briggs was excellent.

    • Thank you, Heidi. Yes, The Others is excellent. I’m planning to get back to the series new week and then jumping on Briggs’ series. I’ve been hearing awesome things about Briggs series too. Wow.. cant wait to start it. 😁

  9. just wait for it, a couple of months and you will be getting more ARCs than you can handle XD but for reals, request the once you know you going to read, its so easy to get carried away. I’ve been there >.< hope you had a good easter!!

    • Thank you so much. I can’t imagine what I would do if I had lots of ARCs. I’m trying to limit them; I only request or except the ones I know I will enjoy. I haven’t joined netgalley yet. I don’t have self control when it comes to book. I’m afraid that netgalley and I will not work out at the end. 🤣😆
Do you have any tips on how to handle ARCs?

  10. I’m glad you had a nice Easter. The Tillie Cole series sounds emotionally intense. The Jamie Brook Thompson titles sound like fun. Happy Reading!

  11. I purchased The Chosen, but Im only on book four, Butch is not one of my favorite characters and it has taken a while to get through it. Happy reading and have a wonderful week.

  12. Whoops! I missed your post last week! I’m SORRY!!

I really want to read The Other’s so I’m glad to see you powering through that series and I can’t wait to see what you think of the latest books!

We had a lovely Easter and a super lazy week in general but now this week there’s yet ANOTHER holiday (ANZAC day) and then our local Show Friday and Saturday so I probably won’t accomplish too much this week either! Oops!
