Weekly Recap – I didn’t feel well (April 9, 2017)

Posted April 9, 2017 by Geybie's Book Blog in Weekly Recaps / 106 Comments

Hi, everyone. I hope everyone had a great week. I had a rough one. In fact, I was contemplating on whether I should write this post. I don’t have much to share, honestly. As some of you might have known, I did get sick two weeks ago and then I felt better a few days later. However, I got sick again last week and it affected my reading time. It was a huge bummer since I had planned to post three book reviews last week. I’m getting better now, though, so everything is ok. πŸ˜€

Another thing I want to share is that I’d decided to do a little change. As you know, I’d been devouring The Others series by Anne Bishop since two weeks ago and I’d loved and enjoyed it, but I decided to take a little break and started a new story in order to refresh myself. I’m planning to get back to the series in the next week. πŸ˜€

Last week on the blog:

Murder of Crows: A Novel of the Others by [Bishop, Anne]Β The Opposite of You (Opposites Attract Series Book 1) by [Higginson, Rachel]

Books I’m currently reading and will be reading this month:

Vision In Silver: A Novel of the Others by [Bishop, Anne]Β Marked In Flesh (A Novel of the Others Book 4) by [Bishop, Anne]Β Etched in Bone (A Novel of the Others) by [Bishop, Anne]Β The Coppersmith Farmhouse (Jamison Valley Series Book 1) by [Perry, Devney]Β The Hard Truth About Sunshine by [Bennett, Sawyer]Β Say I'm Yours by [Michaels, Corinne]Β Silence Fallen (Mercy Thompson, #10)Β Devil in Spring: The Ravenels, Book 3 by [Kleypas, Lisa]Β The Night Mark: A Novel by [Reisz, Tiffany]Β Black Hearts (Sins Duet Book 1) by [Halle, Karina]Β Dirty Souls (Sins Duet Book 2) by [Halle, Karina]Β Corrupt by [Douglas, Penelope]Β The Chosen: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood by [Ward, J.R.]

The Link-Up:

I’m linking up to The Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer,Β Stacking The Shelves by Team Tynga’s Reviews,Β Mailbox Monday,Β andΒ Book Date.

Which one should I read next? πŸ˜€

  1. I’m sorry you’ve been feeling poorly again, Geybie, and I sure hope you’ll feel great starting right now!!

You are so organised with your reading. I can’t decide too much in advance what to read, as I like to just pick something up based on my mood…

Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading xoxo

    • I used to pick randomly based on my mood too, Lexxie. This month, I’m trying to read every book I’ve purchased. Fingers crossed, I won’t get distracted. πŸ˜‰
Have a great week, Lexxie. Happy reading. πŸ˜€

  2. Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well again! I do hope you are feeling better soon. It can take a toll on our reading when we aren’t feeling 100% but rest is always needed! I need to take some time to read The Other’s Series, I have heard nothing but good things about it.

I hope you have a great week, Geybie! Happy Reading and Feel Better! ox

  3. Glad that you’re feeling better! ❀ πŸ™‚ Being sick, and being unable to read as much as one wants always sucks. And holy smokes, you’re so organised! I wish I can be the same, it’d definitely help out on university and my own blog πŸ˜‚

  4. I’m sorry to hear you felt so sick last week. That sucks and I can totally understand not having the energy or motivation to read. You have some really great books lined up to read though. Devil in Spring is amazing and I hope you love it! And of course The Others series is A+!
    Happy reading and feel better!

  5. I’m sorry that you weren’t feeling well! I know how that can really effect your reading. I’m glad that you’re feeling better now, and I hope that you are able to get more read this week! Have a good week, and happy reading! πŸ™‚

Sometimes change ups are good. And sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well. My reading has been down too although I rebounded a bit this weekend, thank goodness. πŸ™‚

Looking forward to seeing what you think of Silence Fallen as I’ve recently started that series.

    Have a super week!

  7. Oh no! Sorry you aren’t feeling well! I know when I was sick a few weeks ago, reading just didn’t happen. When you are too sick to read, that is seriously sick! Hope you get better!
Oh I hope you love Devil in Spring. I adored that book!!!!

I hope you are feeling better. I just read The Others series and my plan had been to read straight through the series but after the third book, I had to take a break. It was too much and I wasn’t enjoying the books as much. I read another book and then went back to book 4 and waited a couple of weeks for book 5. I think that the series is just too detailed to go straight through. Have a great week!

Oh no, I’m sorry you got sick again. That’s the worst!! Sometimes it’s good to mix up as series with some other books so you aren’t JUST reading those. πŸ™‚ I’ve been doing well on my reading, but I’m SO behind on writing reviews, etc. I really need to work on that this week so I’m up to date again.

  10. Do hope you are feeling better by now, feeling well is more important than reading! Think you are wise to give the Bishop books a break. I loved them but I did have breaks in between – sometimes a whole year. You have heaps of great looking books to vary up the diet.

You know you’re sick when you can’t read!
My rec is Black Hearts and then your next choice will have to be Dirty Souls β€οΈπŸ“šβ€οΈ

    • Thank you, Sandy. I’m much better now. I’m trying to be more organized this month by reading the books I’ve purchased, otherwise my TBR would be out of control. Hopefully I won’t get distracted. I’m a mood reader. Hehe 😁
Anyway, thank you for visiting. Have a great week. 😁

  12. Ugh, sorry to hear you got taken down *again* by sickness, Geybie. No fair getting kicked down when you’re still on the mend. πŸ™ I sure hope the worst has passed by now. I’m still at the beginning of Murder of Crows (audio version). Just haven’t had much time to listen to it. I’ll be looking forward to reading your review as soon as I finish it, though! I see you have one by Corinne Michaels on your TBR. I am so excited to read something by her! I own several but just haven’t read one from her yet. I feel like I’m going to love her books, though, just from reading the synopses. Hope your week is off to a good start!

  13. I hope you are really over whatever was making you sick. I was lucky to discover the Others series when only the first three books were available. It wasn’t too much to catch up on. Of course, then I had to wait for more books to be published. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. Hopefully you are on the mend now. If not, some bed rest, relaxation and good books are in order. I am listening to the last book of the Others and I don’t want it to be over. It has been a favorite of mine for the last few years.

    • Thank you so much, Heidi. I’m feeling way better now. Oh I’m starting to miss The Others series. I’m planning to read the rest next week. Anyway, I hope you have a great week. 😁

  15. Oh no I’m sorry you’ve been sick. I know how awful it is to get behind on reviews when you were planning to do them πŸ™ I really hope you feel better soon and enjoy all your books this week.
Have a lovely week ahead, Geybie πŸ™‚ <3

  16. Oh I hope you get to feeling better and very soon. I am glad that you have been enjoying Bishop’s books so much.

I am crossing my fingers you will pick up Devil in Spring soon, curious to see what you think of Kleypas, I think she is an author you would really really love.

    • I’m so much better now. Thank you. Oh I can’t wait to read Devil In Spring. I’m also planning to purchase Kleypas’s contemporary books. I’ve heard that her contemporary books are awesome as well. 😁

  17. I’m glad you are feeling better. Don’t have a relapse. I hope you pick up Silence Fallen soon. I plan to listen to it, especially now that you reminded me that it is on my shelf too. πŸ™‚ Happy Reading!

    • I can’t wait to read Silence Fallen but I need to purchase the previous books in the series. I don’t know that it is a part of a series when I purchased. I thought it was pure standalone. 😁

Oh sorry to hear you didn’t feel well. Hope you are feeling better now πŸ™‚ I could never read a series that long without taking a break either πŸ™‚ I just finish the Night Mark. Really liked it hope you do too πŸ™‚
