Weekly Recap – I Had a Very Busy But Productive Week (March 26, 2017)

Posted March 26, 2017 by Geybie's Book Blog in Weekly Recaps / 77 Comments

Hi guys, how are you? I hope you all had a great week. I had a very busy but productive week, but my reading experience was not as good as I had hoped for. I managed to read and review two books but did not enjoy them as much as I would have loved.

Last week on the blog:

Shade's Lady: A Reapers MC Novella by [Wylde, Joanna] Every Little Thing (Hart's Boardwalk) by [Young, Samantha]

What I am currently reading and will be reading this week (book haul):

I am currently reading Written In Red by Anne Bishop and planning to read the rest of the books in the series this week. OMG, I am loving it. Yes, I know. I can’t believe I’ve just heard of this series recently. Maybe because I have mostly focused on contemporary romance these last two years. Since I started blogging, I’ve got a lot of recommendations that I would not otherwise have got. Thank you!! 😀

  • Written In Red (The Others #1) – gifted by my friend Christy’s Love of Books
  • Murder Of Crows (The Others #2) by Anne Bishop – purchased
  • Vision In Silver (The Others #3) by Anne Bishop – purchased
  • Marked In Flesh (The Others#4) by Anne Bishop – purchased
  • Etched In Bone (The Others #5) by Anne Bishop – purchased

Written In Red: A Novel of the Others by [Bishop, Anne] Murder of Crows: A Novel of the Others by [Bishop, Anne] Vision In Silver: A Novel of the Others by [Bishop, Anne] Marked In Flesh (A Novel of the Others Book 4) by [Bishop, Anne] Etched in Bone (A Novel of the Others) by [Bishop, Anne]

The Link-Up:

I’m linking up to The Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Review, Stacking The Shelves by Team Tynga’s Reviews, Mailbox Monday and Book Date.

Have you read this series?  😀

I hope you have a better reading week this week! The Others series is awesome, isn’t it? I need to jump back into it. I just love it. Have a terrific week!

    • Yes, it is AWESOME. The last paranormal reads I read wasn’t good, so I never thought I would read another one in the near future. 😀
Thanks for visiting. Have a great week and happy reading.

    • It is awesome. I’m currently in a book fog. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it too. I can’t wait to read your review for it. 😀

Aw sorry to hear the books weren’t quite great. Glad it was still a good week though. Heard good things about Bishop’s books…

  3. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Bishop’s books, but I still haven’t gotten around to reading them (story of my life). I’m glad that you’re loving them, and I’m excited to see your reviews for them! 🙂

    • Hehe.. It is.. I love the predictability in this case, though. It’s been a while since I read a series. I’ve been used to reading pure standalones or standalones part of a series. So, I’m so excited with the change. It is kind of refreshing. 😀
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great week. 😀

  4. YES! The Others is an AMAZING series. I hope you love the rest of the books as much as you did Written in Red. You’re in for such an awesome ride though! I hope you have a better reading week ahead!
Happy reading and have a good week!

    • I’m still reading Written In Red, Nick. I’m LOVING it so far. Can’t wait to talk about it. Thank you, Nick. I’m gonna have a great reading week with this series.

    • I hope you give it a try, Tracy. It is awesome. I’m still in Book 1 but I think I’m gonna enjoy the rest of them. 😀
Anyway, thank you for visiting. Have a great week and happy reading. 😀

  5. Every year I make a list of 5 books that are a little outside of my comfort zone to read and this year Written in Red is on the list. I can’t wait! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it. It’s amazing how much blogging has changed my reading. I’m always discovering books I never would have heard about. Not so good for my TBR though. Have a great week!

    • Sam with me, this book blogging commnity has recommended me books I had never thought even existed. So happy to be part of this amazing community. The Others series is awesome, Katherine. You’re gonna love it. 😀
Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it. Have a great day and happy reading. 😀

    • This series has been a favorite of many amazing bloggers I know. They’ve recommended it to me several times. It’s been a while since I read paranormal/urban fantasy genres, so I need some getting used to, but wow.. this series has taken my breath away from the first page. It is awesome. I hope you give it a try, Genesis. 😀
      Have a great week.

I skipped Written in Red because the library didn’t have it, and I read Murder of Crows instead. I liked it, but it wasn’t one of my favorites. Maybe I would have liked it more if I had read the first book. Still, I plan to keep going in the series. I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

  7. I haven’t read ‘The Others’ series too. So your not alone! 😉 I have the first book on Audio but somehow I just haven’t been able to start it yet. Maybe some day soon.
I loved ‘Every Little Thing’.. Sorry to hear you didn’t love it as much as you hoped.
Have a great week and happy reading!

    • I enjoyed “Every Little Thing” but not as much as I hoped. It is still a good book, though. I’m glad you enjoyed it, Maureen. ohhh you need to give The Others series a try. It is amazing. Some parts make me laugh out loud. It is very refreshing to read the ones that you didn’t use to. Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great week. Happy reading. 😀

I discovered Anne Bishop’s series late too. One advantage is that I didn’t have to wait for the next book to keep reading. I even had the eARC for Etched in Bone. Now I want print copies of all of them. Aren’t those covers gorgeous? Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    • Yes, the covers are yummy. Love them! Ohh that was I thinking. I’m lucky tha I don’t have to wait the next one to be published. I hate waiting. Thank you, Kathy. Have a great week. 😀

  9. krazaykris

LoL You’re not the only one who’s getting a late start on Bishop’s series. I heard about it recently, too, because the bloggosphere was blowing up with the last books release. I finished the first book last week (LOVED IT!) and am currently reading the second one. I can’t wait to read your thoughts on it.

    • Wow.. I’m so happy that you’re currently reading this series too. I can’t wait to read your reviews. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great week. 😀
Anyway, I have a new boyfriend and he is a WOLF! 😉

    • Yes, I AM LUCKY!! I don’t have to wait for the rest books to be published as well!! Glad that you loved this series too, Angie. I hope you love the one you’re currently reading. Have a great week. 😀

  10. Anne Bishop’s series is very good and you have treats in store. The best of coming late to it is that they are all there for the taking and reading!

I have been reading the Anne Bishop series this month. I really enjoyed them but found it took me a bit longer to get through a book since they are so detailed. I will look forward to your thoughts. Have a great week!
