Weekly Recap – Last Week Could Not Have Been Better (March 12, 2017)

Posted March 12, 2017 by Geybie's Book Blog in Weekly Recaps / 70 Comments

Hi, thank you for stopping by. Welcome back to my weekly recap. I hope everyone had an awesome week. I did have a great week since all the books I read were awesome. Seriously, I couldn’t have asked for a better week. Everything in my real life was going great as well.

I decide to be more selective on what I’m going to read and the best way I’ve learned so far was to ask my fellow book bloggers which books they recommend the most, instead of going blindly. I love experiencing “try and error” but when it comes to reading I want to enjoy every single book I read.

Last Week On The Blog

I read a fantastic New Adult Romance that I couldn’t put down and a very addictive Dark Romance Series. I highly recommend these books. πŸ˜€

Nova (The Renegades) by [Yarros, Rebecca]Β Passion & Venom (Venom Trilogy Book 1) by [Williams, S., Williams, Shanora]Β Venom & Ecstasy (Venom Trilogy Book 2) by [Williams, S., Williams, Shanora]

The Ones I’m Dying To Read

I’ve just added a lot of books on my TBR list that I can’t wait to read, recommended by my fellow book bloggers. πŸ˜€

Silence Fallen (Mercy Thompson, #10)Β Etched in Bone (A Novel of the Others) by [Bishop, Anne]Β Devil in Spring: The Ravenels, Book 3 by [Kleypas, Lisa]Β Shade's Lady: A Reapers MC Novella by [Wylde, Joanna]Β Until It Fades: A Novel by [Tucker, K.A.]Β The Night Mark: A Novel by [Reisz, Tiffany]Β Black Hearts (Sins Duet Book 1) by [Halle, Karina]Β Dirty Souls (Sins Duet Book 2) by [Halle, Karina]Β Prisoner (Criminals & Captives Book 1) by [Warren, Skye, Martin, Annika]

I hope you have an awesome week! Do you guys have any recommendations for me? Dark romances? Alpha Males? Badass Heroes? Or any of your “OMG this book is out of this world AMAZING!”? πŸ˜€

Silence Fallen seems to be getting pretty good reviews, and I’m looking forward to getting on with that series. Dirty Souls looks like it might be interesting, and the venom books too (nice covers). Glad it was a great week, hope your reads turn out well. πŸ™‚

Yay for having an awesome week and having a series you can’t put down!
Oh definitely check out Devil in Spring! It made me so happy haha. Happy reading!

  3. Great haul. I am thinking about getting Dirty Souls myself though I am not much of a ebook reader. But since this cover comes up on almost every blog I know it seems to be a good choice to read. Happy reading and have a great week ahead.
    my haul

    Best wishes

  4. I’m with you on wanting to love the books I read. I, too, have gotten more selective, but every now and then I still find myself less than thrilled with a book.

Enjoy your week, and I’m curious about the K. A. Tucker book. I haven’t read this author…yet.

Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

  5. I have had to learn that it is okay to give up on a book if I’m not into it. I decide what to read based on Goodreads reviews as well as reviews from blogs and people in my book group. Still what one person loved may not work for me! It is great when you discover a new series or pick up a book you might not have read otherwise based on those reviews though. Glad you found some new ones. I will have to look for that Lisa Kleypas book.

Glad you had a great week both in reading and life in general and hope this week is great too.

    • Thank you, Christina. Yes, that’s tough. What works for others might not work for us. I always felt guilty when I had to DNF a book. But I think I need to do it, otherwise blogging’s gonna feel like a chore.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great week. πŸ˜€

  6. Beware Of The Reader

You’ve had a wonderful reading week! And Shade’s Lady is really good so I hope you’ll have time to read it! xoxo

  7. What was the NA read and the Dark Romance series? So I can check them out! If you like Dark Romance, read Corrupt by Penelope Douglas if you haven’t read it. So freaking good and the hottest sex scene I’ve read in a while 😍
I’m glad your week has been great!
I’m pretty sure I read Prisoner but not quite sure πŸ€” I’ll have to check my Goodreads.
Ooh you got Until It Fades! I can’t wait to start it soon πŸ™‚
I need to finish the Wallflowers series so I can start with The Ravenels series so I can finally read Devil In Spring!!
    Have a lovely week!! πŸ’•

    • I’ve just read the Venom Series and it was awesome. It is a dark romance. Ohhh I LOVE dark romances. Curropt? I’ll check it out. Thank you for recommending me. I’ve just discovered a great NA romance by Rebecca Yarros. It is awesome. I enjoyed it so much.
I’m reading Prisoner and it’s been great so far. I’ll start Until It Fades after that.
Devil in Spring has got lots of awesome reviews (5 stars so far).. it made me curious.

I hope you have a great week too, Genesis. Please recommend me some awesome dark romances you’ve read. Thanks for visiting. πŸ˜€

  8. Hooray for such a great reading week!! I’ve yet to read anything by Rebecca Yarros even though I have one or two by her on my Kindle. I’ll have to check out that Renegades series. I love K.A. Tucker and I’m so excited for Until It Fades!

    • Rebecca Yarros is awesome. I loved the Renegades series. I hope you give it a try. And I’ve been hearing lots of great things about Until It Fades. I can’t wait to start it soon.
Thanks for visiting, Tanya. I hope you have a great week. πŸ˜€

  9. I’m looking forward to Silence Fallen and Etched in Bone too. But, I have to get caught up in both series first. I’ve got some reading to do first.

    • I can’t wait to start them as soon as I finish what I’m reading now. I hope you get to read them too. They get lots of great reviews.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoy your reads and have a great week. πŸ˜€

  10. It looks like you had a great week and can I say how happy I am that you added Devil In Spring on your list…because that book is amazing. Have you read Kleypas before? Her contemporaries are pretty fantastic as well. But I think you would really love the Ravenel series. Including any of her works. She was one of my first romance authors and is still after all these years one of my favorites to read. So I am crossing my fingers you will love DIS. Happy Reading and hope you have a great week.

    • It is my first book by Lisa Kleypas. I’ve heard so many awesome things about this author. I can’t wait to start Devil In Spring. I’ll definitely check out her contemporary books. You have me want to check out ALL of this author’s books. πŸ˜€
Thank you. I hope you have a great week.

  11. I’m so glad you’ve had such a great reading time! It’s AWESOME when that happens.

I’ve also got the Bishop series on my TBR and I am going to need to read that soon! So many books!

I hope you have a lovely week and that your reads are as good as last week’s!

  12. Nice haul, seriously! I am sad to say I haven’t read any of those books. I hope you enjoy them all. Nice to hear you had such a fantastic week. I hope this one is just as fabulous for you!

  13. If you have already figured out how to be selective in your blogging adventure you are way ahead of some of us seasoned veterans. It took me about three years to learn to say no. Definitely start paying attention to what bloggers are reading and loving, that way you can be sure to get some great reads.

    • Thank you so much, Heidi. I did learn from fellow bloggers a lot. I don’t want to end up quitting blogging. This should be fun and I want to keep it that way, like you said, not a chore. I’m afraid I’m gonna get burned out if I don’t. It is VERY difficult to say no but I need to.
Getting awesome recommendations is the reason I love going to fellow book bloggers. I’ve gotten a lot of awesome reads so far. πŸ˜€
Thanks for the support, Heidi. I hope you have a great week. πŸ˜€
