Book Review – Preston’s Honor by Mia Sheridan

Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance Standalone/Series: Standalone Published on: February 18, 2017 Pages: 432 Source: Purchased Rating: 3.5 STARS Buy on Amazon This story is a standalone, second-chance romance inspired by the Gemini sign in Mia Sheridan’s signs of love series. I love Mia Sheridan and have read almost all her books, which I loved and enjoyed. Her writing is deep and captivating and makes me subconsciously immersed to the story. I’ve never had a problem with her writing and she is one of the authors that I adore and love… My one-click author. What is the story about? Annalia Del Valle and the twin brothers, Preston and Cole Sawyer had been best friends since they’d been kids. Lia was the daughter of a single Mexican woman and had a very tough life, whereas Preston and Cole came from what looked like a perfect family. They had two parents, a nice house and a big farm which means they didn’t have to worry about money. Unfortunately, not for Lia. It constantly made her feeling insecure being around them in school. Two things were certain in her […]

Book Review – Debt by Nina G. Jones

Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance Standalone or Series: Standalone Published on: December 2, 2014 Pages: 467 POV: Dual first person POV Source: Purchased Rating: 5 STARS! Buy on Amazon OMG.. One of the best books I’ve read so far. Period! I’ve never felt this level of being consumed and connected in a long time, reading wise. In a very rare occasion I had found myself rereading a book right after I was finished reading it and even got excited all over again even though I’d already known how it would go. My heart was over the place and I was in the state of emotional roller coaster I’ve been longing for. This is why I love reading. It is to be able to experience a story in a deeper level like I did with this book: devouring and doing it again while experiencing the same emotions and even more. My words will never do justice to how incredibly mindblowin and amazing this book is. All I will do is to tell you my experience as I read it. I was a mess right from the start. […]

Book Review – Riveted (Saints of Denver #3) by Jay Crownover

Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance Standalone/Series: Standalone Published on: February 14, 2017 Pages: 368 Source: Purchased Rating: 4 STARS Buy on Amazon Wow… This book has the power to make you completely immersed in the story without even realizing it. I was feeling like I was in the story, not the one who was reading it, since the very first page. It was getting better as I turned the pages and turned out to be completely the opposite of what I’d had in mind. What is it about? It follows an outstanding girl named Dixie. She is sweet and selfless… the kind of girl that always sees the good in people. The way she treats everyone that comes to her life makes her lovable. She is infectious, the sunshine whose light positively affects everyone around her. However, it seems that her bright personality doesn’t do a thing to the man, Dashel Churchill, she has secretly loved for months since he walked into the bar she has worked in despite all her efforts to make him know her feelings. He has a secret that runs […]

Favorite Series – Saints of Denver Series by Jay Crownover

I’ve just read a book from this series that I LOVED. The writing is awesome! I’m planning to read all the books in this series especially since the newest will be released in a few months. I highly recommend this series. Each book can be read standalone since each follows a different couple in interconnected stories. About Book 1: Sometimes you have to tear everything down to build something new… Sayer Cole is frozen inside. At least, that’s what it’s felt like for as long as she can remember. She’s yet to let anyone past her icy exterior – and the one guy she thinks might melt her heart couldn’t possibly be interested in someone so uptight. Rough, hard and hot-as-hell, Zeb Fuller has rebuilt his life and his construction business since protecting his family sent him to jail all those years ago. His elegant client, Sayer, makes him feel like a Neanderthal in denim, but despite the many hints that he’s been dropping to get to know her better, she seems oblivious to his charms. Just as things finally start to […]

Book Review – Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward

Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance Standalone/Series: Standalone Published on: February 11, 2017 Pages: 282 Source: Purchased Rating: 3.5 STARS Buy on Amazon This book has all the feels that I always look for in second-chance romance: sexy, funny, and not overly angsty. It had me from the very first page; my heart was pounding with excitement and anticipation that I’d rarely experienced in reading second-chance romance. I’m usually very critical on why the main characters were separated in the past and if the reasons aren’t convincing, I rarely enjoy them. In addition to it, I don’t like an overly angsty story when the purpose is solely to make excuses for main characters to break up, fight, or do something stupid like cheating, etc. What is it about? It is about a young first-grade teacher whose life suddenly in upside down since the man that she loved when she was in college appears in her school with his son attending her class. At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women. Everyone wanted a piece of […]
